Gallery Talk focuses on figure painting - Jan. 23

Contemporary naturalist painter Thomas Caleb Goggans will offer a gallery talk and drawing demonstration with a live model from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 23, as part of the current exhibition, "Go Figure: Selections From the Permanent Collection," at the Hunter Museum of American Art, 10 Bluff View. Goggans will guide his audience through the details of figure painting, explaining how color, gesture and composition are used to evoke mood and meaning. Goggans also will present a Figure Painting Workshop for all levels this weekend, Jan. 25-26, at Townsend Atelier (call 423-266-2712 for cost and registration information).
