GA police say man at church, cab driver robbed

MACON, Ga. - Authorities in the Macon area say they suspect the same man is responsible for robbing a man at a church and then trying to steal money from a cab driver.

The Telegraph of Macon reports both crimes were reported to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office with about 30 minutes of each other Sunday.

A 62-year-old man told police he was robbed Sunday morning at a church on Robert Henry Street by a man who demanded his wallet.

Investigators say they believe the same man called a taxi cab and demanded money as he put an object to the driver's head. The driver told police he saw the object was a stick and mashed the accelerator, causing his assailant to fall out of the open rear door.
