Georgia on Tuesday announced the hiring of Tracy Rocker as defensive line coach.

Rocker has spent the past three seasons as defensive line coach of the Tennessee Titans. He had the same job at Auburn in 2010, when the Tigers won the national championship.

"Tracy certainly has a name familiar to all who follow SEC football," Bulldogs coach Mark Richt said in a release. "He was one of the greatest defensive players in SEC history and has become one of the country's outstanding defensive line coaches. He's been at several very successful programs as a player and coach, and we're fortunate to have him joining our football staff."

Rocker was an All-America defensive tackle at Auburn, winning the Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award in 1988, and he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2004. He has coached in the SEC in Arkansas and Ole Miss as well.

As an Auburn assistant, he oversaw the development of Nick Fairley, who won the Lombardi in 2010.
