Joe Ledbetter, co-founder of Chattanooga Whiskey, was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and retaliation against a judge, juror or officer.Joe Ledbetter, cofounder of Chattanooga Whiskey and Tennessee Stillhouse, resigned from the company today and cited ongoing professional and personal clashes.
"I'm difficult to work with," he said. "And that's something I'm trying to be better at."
Ledbetter will retain a seat on the board and ownership in the company, he said. His resignation comes two weeks after he was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and threats against a judge juror or officer. But Ledbetter said his resignation is not related to his arrest. The move will relieve significant ongoing stress at the company, he said, and allow both him and the company to flourish.
Going forward, he plans to write a book and has started a new company called Barrelhouse Lab.
