St. Jude fundraiser set for July 4 in downtown Chattanooga

A fundraiser for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital is set for Friday at Universal Joint, 532 Lookout St., across from the Hamilton County Courthouse.

Beach Party is the theme of the event, scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Events will include a dunk tank with University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football coach Russ Huesman and UTC men's basketball coach Will Wade. There also will be prize raffles, T-shirt sales and live music.

One hundred percent of money raised from activities and sales goes directly to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, organizers say, and 20 percent of Universal Joint's food sales for the day also will go to St. Jude.

Located in Memphis, St. Jude is a world leader in research and treatment of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
