NASHVILLE - Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that killed one person and injured two others in a northeast Nashville neighborhood.

According to WKRN-TV, the crashed occurred around 6 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 65 in Madison.

Police say a motorcycle driven by 34-year-old Eric Knight struck a pedestrian, identified as 45-year-old Gregory Crabtree, whose truck had blown a tire. Crabtree was in the roadway picking up a piece of tire tread.

Officials say the impact caused Knight's motorcycle to veer into the shoulder between Crabtree's truck and the guardrail, ejecting Knight and his passenger, 27-year-old Abigail McCormick.

Knight died at the scene. Crabtree and McCormick were both listed in critical condition at local hospitals.

Over in East Tennessee, authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred around 9:30 Saturday in Knox County. Ernest McFall, 56, of Knoxville, was killed when he crossed a centerline and struck an oncoming pickup. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
