UPDATE: Four-car crash on I-24 kills two, injures two

A four-car crash on Interstate 24 this morning killed two women, one from Alabama and another from Wisconsin, and injured to other people, according to Georgia Highway Patrol officials.

The accident happened just before 8 a.m when a Ford Mustang traveling westbound for unknown reasons crossed the median into the eastbound lanes and struck a Chevrolet Trailblazer, a Nissan Altima and a Jeep Patriot, Department of Public Safety public information officer Tracey Watson said in a press release on the accident.

The drivers of the Ford and Nissan were killed, while the drivers of the Jeep and Chevrolet were injured and transported to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Watson said.

The Wisconsin woman was listed as 52-years-old but there was no age available on the Alabama woman. No names have been released.
