Three bears struck by vehicles in a single day in Knoxville area

A black bear was struck and killed Friday afternoon near Cosby, officials said.

This was the third bear struck in a single day in the Knoxville area, officials said.

According to Great Smoky Mountains National Park spokeswoman Dana Soehn, the bear was struck while crossing U.S. 321 near Jack's Market between Pittman Center and Cosby.
