photo A woman is taken away to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries after it was reported that she was ejected from a moving Dodge 1500 pick-truck and run over by the same vehicle near Oldman Avenue and Jourolman Avenue on Monday, July 14, 2014.

A woman was run over by a pickup after apparently jumping out or being pushed out of the vehicle in the Western Heights public housing complex Monday afternoon, Knoxville police said.

The incident was reported about 4 p.m. near the corner of West Oldham and Jourolman avenues, where more than a dozen Knoxville Police Department officers and emergency responders converged on the scene.

"We're not sure if she jumped out or fell out of the truck," said KPD spokesman Darrell DeBusk. "It does appear that she's under the influence, as well as the male driver of the vehicle.
