The Detroit fashion designer, dancer, model and rapper accused of killing a North Georgia convenience store clerk won't be back in court until next month.

Skyy Raven Marie Mims, 21, was scheduled to appear before Whitfield County Superior Court Judge Jack Partain for an arraignment Friday, but that hearing has been pushed back to 2 p.m. Aug. 25. During an arraignment, a judge tells the accused why she has been arrested and the accused enters a plea of guilty, not guilty or no contest.

Mims is charged with stabbing 37-year-old Dahyabhai Kalidas Chaudhari to death at his Hi-Tech Fuel convenience store in Dalton on March 9. She remained at the Whitfield County Jail on Tuesday without bail.

Her public defender, Brandon Sparks, did not return multiple calls seeking comment. But Conasauga Judicial Circuit District Attorney Bert Poston said prosecutors and defense attorneys want more time to prepare for the arraignment.

"All I can tell you is that it is by agreement of both parties," he said. "We want some additional time to share information and talk."

Mims' trial is scheduled for the week of Oct. 13.

Her mother, Ylet Noelle Patterson, has said her daughter is innocent. She said Mims was arrested because she is a beautiful, intelligent model, and others are jealous.

On Tuesday, Patterson declined to talk about the case, other than to say, "I know everything that's going on."

Patterson told a reporter to call a "Mr. Cooper," a man who she said is handling media inquiries. She would not say what Cooper's first name is, or whether he is related to Mims.

When a reporter called Cooper, he did not pick up. Minutes later, he sent a text message: "In order for interviews to be done the family is asking for all ... to make a donation to her legal fund."
