Chattanooga Lookouts lose to Biscuits, drop sixth game in a row

The Chattanooga Lookouts collected 13 hits and watched Montgomery commit three errors Tuesday night at AT&T Field, but they couldn't capitalize in a 7-6 loss to the Biscuits.

Chattanooga lost its sixth consecutive game and fell to 10-20 in the Southern League's second half and to 36-64 overall. Tuesday's game was the 100th of the season for the Lookouts, who have 38 remaining.

The Lookouts took their lone lead of the night at 5-4 in the fourth inning on Darnell Sweeney's RBI double to right field, but Richie Shaffer's RBI double to left keyed Montgomery's two-run fifth inning that put the Biscuits ahead to stay.

Montgomery stretched its lead to 7-5 in the eighth inning on Hector Guevara's double to left. Later in the eighth, the Lookouts pulled within 7-6 on O'Koyea Dickson's home run to left.

Shaffer doubled to center with the bases loaded in the first inning to put the Biscuits up 3-0, and they made it 4-0 in the second on Jake Hager's sacrifice fly to center. The Lookouts answered with four runs in their half of the second, getting a double from Dickson and singles by Daniel Mayora, Corey Seager, Chris O'Brien, Noel Cuevas and Bobby Coyle.

An announced crowd of 2,254 attended Tuesday's game, and the two teams will play again this morning at 11:15.
