Chattanooga-based Derryberry Public Relations, a full-service public and government relations firm, is opening a Nashville office.
Company President Robin Derryberry said the new Nashville office will be headed by Sarah Basel, whose resume includes work at an award-winning national marketing and public relations agency in Nashville.
The Chattanooga PR firm also is now affiliated with Nashville lobbying firm King Public Strategies, headed by Matt King. King is a former top aide to Republican Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey, serving as Ramsey's senior policy adviser when Ramsey was majority leader and later as chief of staff for Ramsey when he became speaker.
The firm provides services including but not limited to media relations, crisis communications, strategic planning, branding, marketing, special events and promotions.
Amgen to cut 2,900 jobs
Biologic drug maker Amgen said Tuesday that it will lay off 12 percent to 15 percent of its worldwide workforce and close four sites, even as it reported strong second-quarter results that trounced Wall Street expectations.
The maker of Prolia for osteoporosis and anemia treatment Aranesp said it's restructuring to free up money needed for investments in the business, particularly marketing costs for launching new drugs. The layoffs will happen this year and next, eliminating 2,400 to 2,900 jobs, mostly in the United States.
