PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. - Authorities say divers are trying to locate an occupant who might be inside a vehicle after it plunged into a pond in suburban Atlanta.
Gwinnett County fire officials say they were called to the pond in Peachtree Corners during the morning rush period, around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Fire officials say witnesses reported that a person was inside the vehicle when it went into the water.
Authorities said the car remained completely submerged under water shortly before 8:30 a.m.
Gwinnet County fire officials say a dive team from Hall County has been called to the scene, which is about 20 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.
Few other details were immediately available.
