For the fourth year in a row, Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger presented a budget without a tax increase to the county commission.

The proposed 2015 budget, which runs from July 1 to June 30, 2015, is $7.2 million more than the current year, for a total of $672.5 million.

Nearly 60 percent of the budget -- or $399 million of it -- will go to the county's schools budget.

The budget also includes a 2.5 percent across the board raise for county employees.

There will be no needed funds from the general fund balance, although $2.6 million will come from the department of education and juvenile court's balances to cover costs for those departments.
