Hiring begins for Toyo Tires

The Georgia Department of Labor will help recruit workers for a 650-employee expansion of the Toyo Tire plant in Cartersville, Ga. A job fair is planned for Tuesday, June 17, from from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bartow College and Career Academy, 738 Grassdale Road.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma and be ready to schedule a time to take the Work Ready test at the recruitment. Job seekers who apply for the maintenance technician jobs must have at least two years of experience using Programmable Logistic Controllers in a working environment. Those who apply for the manufacturing technician jobs must have at least one year of experience.

Toyo is making a $371 million expansion of its Georgia facility.


Double Cola expands CSD

The Chattanooga-based Double Cola Co. announced Wednesday it is expanding distribution of its CSD and energy drink line to Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina and South Carolina. Double Cola is partnering with three new distributors for its expanding beverage line.

"With the combination of the multiple years of beverage experience and expertise each company has, along with their strong sales force and the demand we have for our products, I am sure we will be successful," said Mitch Reed, sales director for Double Cola.
