Dixie Highway Yard Sale - June 6-8

photo As this stop from a previous year shows, treasures run the gamut at the Dixie Highway Yard Sale.

Blackberry winter brought chilly temps and rain to last month's Antique Alley & Yard Sale along U.S. Highway 11. Shoppers will be happy to know the forecast calls for drier, warmer weather for the Dixie Highway Yard Sale, running Friday through Sunday, June 6-8, on U.S. Highway 41. Regardless, the three-day bargain blowout through Northwest Georgia is a rain-or-shine event.

Sixteen communities take part, with Ringgold as the northern terminus. The 90-mile route continues south through Tunnel Hill, Rocky Face, Dalton, Resaca and Calhoun, eventually ending in Marietta. Chattanooga-area residents can pick up Highway 41 from the East Ridge exit off I-75 (go east on Ringgold Road).

Among the vendors worth noting is Catoosa Citizens for Animal Care, which will be set up indoors from 8 a.m. to dusk Friday and Saturday at Mack Hill's Auto Sales, 10142 Highway 41 in Ringgold. Proceeds will benefit shelter animals. Call 706-937-2287 for more information.

Previews of more vendor locations, special hotel rates and dining suggestions can be found on the yard sale's Facebook page and the website www.olddixiehighwayyardsale.com.
