Pilot Flying J pulls latest issue of Maxim from its shelves

A controversial ad has prompted Pilot Flying J to pull a magazine from its shelves.

The Knoxville-based chain of truck stops said it is removing all current copies of Maxim magazine from its locations "because of an ad that the company does not believe accurately depicts professional drivers."

According to reports in trucking industry publications, the latest issue of Maxim includes an ad from a Texas law firm which features the front of a tractor-trailer with the headline "serial killer," an apparent reference to accidents involving tractor-trailers.
