TeamHealth, the Knoxville-based physician staffing company, has acquired the operations of Physician Services of Cleveland, LLC.

Physician Services manages and staffs the hospital emergency department for SkyRidge Medical Center, in Cleveland.

"For three generations, my family has provided care for the Cleveland community through various facets of service at SkyRidge Medical Center," Madison Torrence, president of Physician Services, said in a news release. "Physician Services of Cleveland is committed to providing excellent emergency care for our community, and we are excited to join TeamHealth -- an organization that offers unparalleled clinical and operational support with an emphasis on exceptional patient care."

TeamHealth, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, has been growing rapidly through acquisitions, and last year acquired 13 physicians groups.
