Money stolen from Bessie Smith Cultural Center

In the hours after a festive night at the Strut, the Bessie Smith Cultural Center was robbed.

Chattanooga police said in a news release that at some point Tuesday morning — officers aren't sure when — someone entered the center on M.L. King Boulevard and took a "large" amount of cash.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 423-698-2525.

An admission fee of $10 was charged at the event.
