An accident has shut down Interstate 24 eastbound in North Georgia near the I-59 split, the Georgia State Patrol has confirmed.

Three people have been taken to hospitals after a rear-end collision that caused some other wrecks.

Troopers are still on the scene, and more information will be released when it is available.
