A Dayton, Tenn. man is dead following a single-vehicle accident in Dayton Friday afternoon.
At about 2 p.m., Brian Morgan, 28, was traveling east in a 2000 Chevy Blazer on Dayton Mountain Highway, and lost control of his vehicle when he was coming out of a curve, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report.
Morgan was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle when it flipped. The airborne vehicle then landed with its tires down on top of Morgan. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the THP report, Morgan was not suspected to be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol, but the use of a seat belt could have made a difference.
