about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Dave Brat isn't "regular" anything. Listen to the garbage that has come out of his mouth and if you can muster any support for him, you're just as much of an oddball as he is. Will the silent majority quit being silent this November? There appears to be a building anger over the confiscation of more and more of each person's resources through taxes, fees and hidden cost to consumers. The governments revenue per person in the U.S. to pay for all the proposed spending is staggering with no end in sight. Progressives insist the encroachment on personal liberties and freedom are necessary but cannot adequately define why. The sad thing is the lack of understanding of what governments are doing with the conclusions of too many being a result of which TV network they watch or they parrot what their party of choice puts out.

While I’m encouraged that a Republican can say something like that and win as a Republican, I prefer to wait and see what becomes of his populist slogans once he is elected and subject to the same fund-raising pressure as other incumbents; and GOP insiders crush him for attempting to take on powerful elites in mean Washington.

BO's actions are unacceptable, period. It has nothing to do with a specific party. screw both parties. They've failed and are corrupt. It has nothing to with FOX news, or some conservative radio talk show host. You can see what's going on for yourself.

We have two parties who are willing to put us in danger just so they can secure future voters and make the party more powerful.

BO, Valarie Jarrett, and Jeb Bush have profusely praised illegal aliens breaking into our country, making them out to be special, and even saying our future depends on them. What bull$hit.

How stupid do they think we are? As if we don't no the difference between immigrating to a country lawfully and properly, and breaking into a country/illegality.

The Taliban/Al Quada/ISIS are all capable of taking advantage of our borders. What the hell good is it for BO to send warships over to the Gulf, talk about funding rebels in Syria, influence thing in Libya and Egypt, but leave our borders open. She said it was also their responsibility to do something about the crisis at the border. "As congressional leaders, you have the ability to take action, get answers and stop the lawlessness that is unfolding. On behalf of the State of Arizona, I ask you to do so," she said. "I urge you to use your voice, and the authority of your offices and the institutions you lead, to immediately and permanently terminate this atrocious policy and stop this massive, unfettered influx of illegal crossings into our country." Brewer said that the federal government's "primary and fundamental responsibility" is "protecting our nation and its citizens," "but it cannot be done as long as we have an unsecured border and a federal executive that invites and encourages illegal activity." 435 House Members, 100 Senators, perhaps a dozen sets of nads.

Why do those in D.C. insist on making illegal entry easy but do little to manage legal entry? Who accepts and believes the crap put out by politicians that we need them? What is the likelihood top of the class engineers and other disciplines are in those crossing the border illegally? Who believes those entering are all Hispanic with no middle eastern potential terrorist mixing in with the crowd?

I think his victory has more to do with people in general getting fed up with business as usual in Washington and politicians being in bed with the mega-corps that fill their campaign coffers. Not so much immigration reform.

There is nothing this President has ever said that would lead anyone to believe that he would grant amnesty to someone that enters illegally. There's nothing wrong with our immigration policies or laws. We shouldn't have to change a thing just because some politicians want to gain from it and the invaders don't want to follow the rules.

They don't Coyotes anymore, they can just walk across when they see the welcome mat. BO and both parties are allowing this catastrophe to happen so they can gain from it.

There isn't enough employment for US citizens, apparently. Black unemployment is huge. There are millions unemployed here. I think you're clueless. This is different than in the past, yeah, they do come here for employment, and the rest, there's always that, but this is about politicians/two parties trying to coddle illegal aliens and get them to vote for them. They've flat out said so. "our future rests on dreamers" BO said. Well, that's all fine and dandy, but what about the 300 millions citizens in this country who work hard, need work, study hard to build a future etc.? Jeb Bush said they come here out of love. Isn't that special. So, we're supposed to elevate them over all law abiding immigrants? This is nonsense.

This isn't immigration, it's simply people invading a country and those that are entrusted to defend our borders are looking the other way for personal gain, meaning the government and corporations.

It's illegal entry. They're no more immigrants than burglars are guests in a home.

They are very much pushing for amnesty. They want their votes. BO wants their allegiance. They're ignorant, they'll be loyal to the person that gives them the most. GOP/J.Bush, or BO/Dems.

"Our future rests" with them? What kind of sorry ass country is this that our future is so bleak that our hopes rest on invaders from other countries? Our future rests on lawlessness? Think about that. The POTUS states that our future depends on them, and a jackass in the other party, Bush, say they come here out of love. This is madness.

Why do liberals condone the slave labor process illegals and migrant workers are subjected to? Don't fill those jobs you say people don't want and the pay goes to a level people want them.

You know the buses delivering illegals, mostly kids, are going to the border patrol since they think the government has said they could come in unchallenged. Actually the immigrantion process is pretty screwed up fairmon. Jobs go unfilled in the agriculture business because growers can't find people to work in the fields. Immigration in this country is based on an irony. We let in all sorts of immigrants in with MS and PhD in sciences and medicine because there isn't enough Americans going to grad school to fill the jobs.

We have historically relied on immigrants to fill the less desirable jobs, Africans, Irish, Italian, Spanish, Puerto Ricans, Vietnamese, Phillipinos, etc, then applied racial/ethnic bigotry towards them (list the derogatory terms applied to those ethnic groups) and watched as second/third and following generations became pillars in the community enhancing and expanding our cultural heritage and vision.

Fairmon, No, I don't know of "the busses delivering immigrants, mostly kids anticipate to be 100,000's" and so distracting the Border Patrol (sic) that " drug cartels walk across the border at their leisure." I suspect that is a distorted news story blown way out of proportion to the reality. Furthermore, we need young people in the US who want to succeed.

If the border patrol is so distracted, why don't you drive down to Mexico through one of the border crossings in Texas, AZ or CA, pick up some weed or coke and bring it back, let's see how porous the border really is.

Pathway to citizenship as part of a comprehensive bipartisan bill, such as the one Marco Rubio introduced (and later ran from) or G.W. Bush floated before him - YES. Amnesty - NO.

There are 10 Million+ of these folks in the US living in the shadows. They are not going to be rounded up and deported. We need to find a way to bring them into the system so we can weed out the criminals and depart them, and have the remainder pay their fair share of taxes, and live by the same laws the rest of us do. The pathway to citizenship is a 13 year process that involves a background check as well as fines. Regardless of what the hacks at Fox call it, that's not "amnesty".

Illegal have been coming into this country in droves for the last 4 decades and both political parties have looked the other way. The Republicans because many of their corporate backers wanted the cheap labor and the Democrats becasue they were a favorable voting block. Ronald Reagan DID give amnesty to over 3 million but no one bothered to put a stop to the influx.

Border security staff has doubled under Obama and more illegals have been deported under Obama then any previous president, but there is only so much a president can do by executive order. Therefore your attempt to lay the problem at the feet of the President isn't supported by the facts.

We DO need an immigration bill that would put stronger requirements on IDs to keep employers from hiring illegals which is the magnet, as well as added boarder security, allowing us to keep talented professionals who come here and get degrees from our best universities in science technology and medicine and told they have to leave. There has been some bipartisan support for such reform but unfortunately the intolerance of those on the far right have nixed the opportunity to make progress, mostly due to the misuse of the A-word.

Gee, jack, I'll bet there will be a billion immigrants trying to squeeze through Laredo, all on one big bus. What skin is it off your back, anyway? They work, hold jobs you think are below you, pay taxes, the majority are strong family-oriented, moral catholics. Where is the downside?

June 16, 2014 at 1:19 p.m.

inq, they were on the same page on kissing up to illegal aliens. Cantor, is as a big a corporate whore as BO. He met with Zuckerberg and Soros both kiss ups to illegal aliens so they can gain from it.

Brat beat Cantor because Cantor was backing down to the lefties.

I don't have to proof read anything, you dick. I stand by what I say. BO is a fraud, and the media pushed it along. America is a center right country. I stand by that.

Once again, dick/easy, bringing up the incompetence, wrong doing and lawlessness of other presidents and politicians does not absolve BO and the current Dems of wrong doing and lawlessness. Nobody on here who is conservative let's Bush skate on anything. But you keep making it out to be that way.

The fact is BO is a rogue president, a lawless president, but it's ok with you libs because he's has your ideology.

Cantors loss is bad news for Dems as well. It has nothing to do with minorities, it has everything to do with lawlessness and corruption.

The last two presidential elections were an aberration. Things happened that don't normally happen. The white vote was down from historic levels due to conservatives being sick of the candidates we are forced to vote for. The black vote increased over normal levels because they love their bro...and we get Obama for 8 years. The worst president in history. He will set the democrat party back 20 years.

Who said anything about absolving anyone? Lawlessness? LMFAO! It's all bullsh!t with you!

Everyone let Bush skate then and now. I'm not making it out to be any way. That's just the way it is. You want to make everything President Obama does out to be "communism, lawlessness, incompetence, etc." when you were saying nothing of the sort when other President's were doing the same thing on a larger scale.

The fact is you're a fool and the inane garbage you spew is meaningless. It is not congruent with reality and no thinking person should even consider it.

You're simply presenting a whole lot of conjecture backed up by a load of hopes and wishes. Whites still accounted for over 70% of the total electorate in 2012 in case you were wondering. The White vote was down less that 5% from 2004. Historically down? Sure, but not by much. I bet you didn't know any of this though. You just like to carry that Fox News/Rush Limbaugh-made excuse with you because the minority vote finally became a problem for you Right WingNuts.

You speak for the entire white electorate? You speak for the entire black electorate? What about the hispanic electorate? Who would take the opinion of a known racist like yourself seriously anyway? "Bro"? You just can't help it, can you? Give you some rope and you hang yourself.

No, easy, it's not immigration, immigration is when people come in the right way/lawful way. You're on the wrong side of that. What you call immigration is illegal entry. They're illegal aliens. This is the only country in the world where illegal aliens storm in, walk about freely, and demand things from the government. Whether it was under Bush, or now under BO, it's madness.

Anyone who claims Cantor and Brat are other than two peas in a pod or that Cantor and President Obama are alike is trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

The fundamental problem is folks such as Z-fister and this guy jack think everyone is either Satan or God. They refuse to acknowledge there is more than one reasonable position on an issue and paint themself in a corner with the claim it is either my way or the highway. Why are you afraid to listen to an argument that opposes yours, and why is compromise so frightening to you? From its very inception, the founding fathers understood the necessity of compromise, believing that led to a rational solution to intractable differences, you guys are trying to prove them wrong so you violate the very precept of the declaration of independence, the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Don't you believe in the form of government? Are you more interested in having it your way than peace and unity?

I can tell z-fister is having difficulty coming up with cogent arguments for his rigid position because he is starting to descend into the domain of potty talk and cat-calls operating on the idea that he may yell and name call until they go home.

And if you did not understand a previous post, Z, immigrants have always been a source of enrichment of our population and culture, but for some people all change is perceived as bad so they oppose anything new.

June 16, 2014 at 2:48 p.m.

Once again, libs, it's not immigration, it's illegal entry/illegal aliens. We're a country of immigrants, and everyone is welcome, but this' has nothing to do with that. Lawlessness isn't acceptable. Plain and simple.

Compromise to you libs is just giving you what you want.

It's like this, now concentrate, immigrants come into this country all the time the right way. Illegal aliens are coming into the country the wrong way. You want their votes so bad that you're willing to accept lawlessness.

Cantor lost, again, because of the illegal alien issue.

Citizens are more important than illegal aliens and their well being should be priority. Immigrants who come in the proper/ lawful way are more important than illegal aliens and their well being should be priority. Is that clear?

June 16, 2014 at 3:01 p.m.

Easy123....Look at the actual election numbers. How is it racist to point out numbers? Blacks will not turn out for Hillary like they did Barry. According to ABC News (not exactly a leftwingnut news organization) "While the number of non-Hispanic white voters remained statistically the same, about 2 million more black voters, 2 million more Hispanic voters and about 600,000 more Asian voters showed up to the polls." 2008 set an all time record for black turnout.

In 2012 blacks surpassed whites for the first time ever. Another leftie propaganda sheet, the Huffington Post wrote, "WASHINGTON — America's blacks voted at a higher rate than other minority groups in 2012 and by most measures surpassed the white turnout for the first time, reflecting a deeply polarized presidential election in which blacks strongly supported Barack Obama while many whites stayed home.

Had people voted last November at the same rates they did in 2004, when black turnout was below its current historic levels, Republican Mitt Romney would have won narrowly, according to an analysis conducted for The Associated Press."

It is obvious that blacks turned out for Barry because he is black. It was racist. They wanted someone of their own race to win. On the other hand, if whites hated blacks so much, like you liberals constantly say, why was their turnout lower than ever. Wouldn't they have broken their necks to get to the polls to make sure Barry didn't win?

The fact is, as I said, it was a combination of historically high black turnout and historically low white turnout. Whites stayed home because Romney wasn't conservative enough.

I think in 2016 the black turnout will go back to normal and the white turnout will be up because of how terrible Barry has been. The wild card is the female turnout because of sexism and the fact that women want a woman president no matter how bad they are. Just like they wanted a black president.

June 16, 2014 at 3:33 p.m.

What rout? You do realize that in the fall there's a really good chance you'll lose the Senate. You have no chance of taking the house.

The GOP stands for virtually nothing, continually shoots themselves in the foot, gives token opposition to BO/just words, and yet you'll probably lose the Senate.

BO is coming across like he doesn't give a damn about the citizenry. The millions of people in this country who are unemployed, under- employed or hardly working, don't care about the plight of illegal aliens and how much it means to the future of the Democrat Party, or the GOP. It doesn't look good, no matter what you say, to have the POTUS say the future "rests on dreamers" meaning illegal aliens. Everyone else has to do things the right way, but they come illegally and all of sudden they're our most valuable commodity?

June 16, 2014 at 3:34 p.m.
inquiringmind said...

timbo, so it all about race: the only reason President Obama won is the minority black vote came out in numbers? If I recall, the Clintons were widely admired and strongly supported by African-Americans. Romney lost fair and square, the electorate didn't like his silver spoon always hanging out of his mouth.

Z-bister sez, 'The millions of people in this country who are unemployed, under- employed or hardly working, the millions of people who aren't working don't care about illegal aliens..."

How many of those unemployed signed up for picking veggies in FL is response to the add in the paper this week? How many stayed in school through college and got a degree in something other than basket weaving or English? How many of them are willing to move around to where there is work, like N. Dakota where the economy is growing at +10%. Your argument has lots of holes in it buster.

The economy is not in great shape but it is because you want to go to Wal Mart and buy things a cheaply as you can and the only way to do that is to move manufacturing off shore. Oh, you make enough so you don't have to shop at Wal Mart? Well then what an opportunity to help some of those less fortunate than you who don't have jobs or have to work flipping burgers at $14,400/year supporting a family, if they are lucky? Let's do it the right way. Or would you just laugh at them instead?

Easy123 said...

The numbers aren't racist. The things you say and have said are.

Whites still accounted for 70% of the total electorate. Black vote = 66% of 12% of the population. White vote = 64% of 63.7% of the population.

It's racist to say that all black people voted for President Obama because he was black. You just can't help yourself. Did all the white people voting for Romney do so because he was white?

As I already state, the white voter turnout wasn't that far below normal levels. And maybe the racists just didn't vote. Ever thought of that?

"Whites stayed home because Romney wasn't conservative enough"? Can you possibly be serious? You speak for every white voter now?

It's all speculation and conjecture. You're a racist and a mysogynist. It's simple.

What was I wrong about again? You haven't proven anything I've said wrong yet. I'll wait.

inquiringmind...LOOK AT THE NUMBERS, READ THE COMMENTS IN THE HUFFINGTON POST...You think it was just a coincidence that blacks showed up in record numbers to vote for a black guy. Almost every article you read about that election since the census data came in agrees with me.

I will quote the Huffington Post one more time, ".....Had people voted last November at the same rates they did in 2004, when black turnout was below its current historic levels, Republican Mitt Romney would have won narrowly, according to an analysis conducted for The Associated Press."

This was blatant racism, pure and simple. The Clintons didn't even get close to this black turnout.

Man, your arguments are usually wrong but better than that one.

Politics is all about numbers, they do not lie.

June 16, 2014 at 3:57 p.m.
Easy123 said...

The black voter turnout was 64.7% in 2008 and 66.2% in 2012. That's up from just over 60% in 2004. And that was up from 57% in 2000. And that was up from 53% in 1996. The black voter turnout has been rising in every Presidential election. Why did it go up in 2004 and 200? There wasn't a black candidate then, yet blacks showed up in record numbers then too. Your argument is crumbling. Given the previous years of increased black turnout, it stands to reason that the black turnout would have been around those numbers in 2008 and 2012 regardless of whether there was a black candidate or not.

"Every article" doesn't agree with the assertions you are making about the numbers.

You're a blatant racist, pure and simple. Again, the black voter turnout has been going up constantly in Presidential elections. Every black voter didn't vote for President Obama and every voter that voted for him didn't do so because he was black. PERIOD.

It's quite obvious that you don't like it when blacks vote. Like I said, you just can't help yourself. It's sad and VERY TELLING that you're bitching about 12% of the population voting at a 2/3 rate.

You assertions and conjecture about the "numbers" do lie.

June 16, 2014 at 4:03 p.m.

OOO, timbo, now you're a racist.

Easy123....So I guess your liberal press was lying? Do I think that all blacks voted for Barry because he was black? Of course not, some of them voted for him because he was a democrat that happened to be black. 98% voted for Barry in 2000 for Gore it was 90%. In 2004 for Kerry it was 88%. 98% for one candidate says that almost every black voted for Barry, who is black. You think it was just a coincidence!!! If you believe that, you would believe that inquiringmind is a tea bagger.

If whites had voted 98% for Romney, you would be the first to say that it was racism. Romney got about 60% of the white vote and Barry got 40%. If whites were as racist, they would have voted for Romney in greater numbers. If whites were racist, as I said before, they would have jumped through fiery hoops to get to the polls. They stayed home for some reason....hmmmm...could it be the poor choice in Romney? Could it be there was a KKK convention that kept a few million whites at home? Maybe is was a Barry Manilow concert?

AS USUAL YOU HAVE NO COGNITIVE ARGUMENT. YOU ONLY RESORT TO NAME-CALLING. I don't have to prove you wrong, you are always wrong. You blew this one pretty bad.

By the way, what I am doing is analyzing the numbers. That is what smart people do. They don't just make stuff up like you do.

I wouldn't say it was racism if 98% of whites voted for Romney. Try again.

I don't think that platform is going to fly in this country, maybe in East Tennessee, Alabama, Ga, Mississippi, and ISIS-controlled Iraq, but not many other places.

I stated that I did have a cognitive argument. When did I say anything about a description of me? You mean "sometime"? Your use of an ellipsis makes no sense there, Mr. Grammar. Again, it's too easy. You're the same moron that messes up "your, you're". You have no room to talk about grammar, dipsh!t.

Show me where ABC News and the Huffington Post said blacks only voted because President Obama was black. Go on.

I'm glad you're starting to realize how dumb you are then.

You're starting to show to awareness with your first statement.

Is "timboner" his real name?

It's "their", not "there", Mr. Grammar. "More jobs, less taxes and more opportunity" is the Republican/TeaBagger pipe dream.

More with the "plantation" comment? And that's not racist? Unbelievable.

You have the most skewed, backward, psychotic definition of "racist" I've ever come across. Appealing to the interests of specific groups is racist to you! Insanity!

You're fighting a losing battle.

Wrong again. Just keep talking out of your a$$.

Again, you know I'm not a "she". You can't help but prove you're a sexist. It's like you're oblivious or something.

LOL! I don't even have to post. You hang yourself.

Easy123...I was pointing out the racist view of minority groups of liberals. YOU want to keep them on the plantation and tell them how to vote. By the way, you should get out more, at least half the country basically feels the same as I do.

June 16, 2014 at 4:46 p.m.

Well, easy, you must be female, how else do you explain your obvious pms rants? easy, huh, that name is pretty revealing

June 16, 2014 at 4:48 p.m.
Easy123 said...

What would you know about any minority view?

YOU want to keep calling them slaves and tell them that they shouldn't vote or should vote differently than how they want.

By the way, half the country DOESN'T feel the same way you do. You should get a crowbar to pry your head out of your ass.

And you wanted to prove your sexism/mysogyny too!? How delightful! Did you stop beating your wife yet?

"PMS rants"? Do you read your own posts? You are oblivious.

Your name is "zableedofisterix". And you are trying to say something about my screen name? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Pretty "revealing", indeed, Mr. Fister!

Nah, I've got you, fat boy.

"She is getting nuts"? Weren't you the one typing in all caps earlier? LOL!

It's far too easy to get you dipsh!ts to expose your true colors.

Like clockwork.

On a side note: I can understand why you might have an aversion towards women given your outward appearance, timboner. I'm sure you had many females turn you down over the course of your life.

I read it. You're lost on earth.

"I am not sure if you were making fun of me, Willy Wonka, or suckers"? Do you like making people think you're a moron? LOL! Who says stuff like that? It makes YOU look dumb. You're, literally, too stupid to insult.

It's "you're", dumbass. You don't find it hard to believe. You say it because you think calling someone a woman is an insult. It's the juvenile, Shoddy Daisy wit coming out in you.

I know you don't hide your true colors. That was my point all along. I can't believe I'm having to explain this. You make it known that you're a racist and a sexist/mysogynist. I've been saying that for the past hour. Pay attention.

You have a lot of black and female hate to the point of being dismissed by most reasonable people.
