The Chattooga County, Ga., Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of man who was shot multiple times this weekend.

After someone called 911 around 4 p.m. Saturday, investigators found 63-year-old William Robert Packer dead in his house at 2646 John Jones Road in Summerville.

Sheriff Mark Schrader said investigators interviewed a "person of interest" later that day, but that person later was released without charges.

Schrader declined to comment early today when asked who called 911, what type of gun the killer used and where on his body the victim was struck.
