Georgia freshman tight end Hunter Atkinson has elected not to pursue a football career with the Bulldogs.
"We will miss Hunter in our freshman class but understand his decision and wish him nothing but the best in achieving his career objectives," Bulldogs coach Mark Richt said Wednesday in a released statement.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Atkinson was a three-star prospect from Oakwood, Ga. His only other scholarship offer from a "big five school" came from Illinois.
