Man dies after being struck on I-75 in Catoosa County

At around 4:10 a.m., Thursday, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer along I-75 in Catoosa County, Ga., Georgia State Patrol confirms.

James Richard Medlen, 47, of Dalton, was standing in the right lane of northbound I-75 near mile marker 343 next to a broken down vehicle in the emergency lane, when he was hit by a truck coming off of the scales.

No charges are pending against the truck driver.
