about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

You take out one nut, and he's replaced by a bunch of other nuts. No win situation. Big mistake. Islam and freedom don't mix.

It's foolish to believe that we can give them what we have here. Our founding came about from a unique set of circumstances.

Are Islamic nations any less "free" than many Christian (mainly Catholic) countries in Central and South America?

The countries with the highest murder rates in the world are in Central and South America. I don't see you blaming that on Christianity.

June 20, 2014 at 12:34 a.m.

Like I said, Islam and freedom don't mix. Women are treated like dogs, and if you leave you may be killed. If you don't believe, then you may be killed. Freedom of choice is not compatible with Islam, at least as it's practiced in the middle east. Sharia Law doesn't tolerate freedom and punishes individuality.

What does the murder rate in Central and South America have to do with this? Why would the Catholic church be responsible for that?

What does Christianity have to do with this? Unless you're bringing up ISIS burning down Christian churches in Iraq and killing Christians.

In the year 2014 Islam is the only religion that terrorizes and kills if you don't believe.

Are you so ignorant that you believe this is practiced by all Muslims?

Can you not focus on the fact that those who would kill non-believers are not mainstream Muslims, but fanatics and extremists, who seize on specific passages found in a Quran, while completely ignoring that which can be read telling them that murder is wrong?

I'll just bet you're totally unaware that the Bible commands us to kill unbelievers too.

Deuteronomy 17 - "If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant;"

17:3 - "And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;"

17:4 - "And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel;"

17:5 - "Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die."

Fox News host Megyn Kelly confronted former Vice President Dick Cheney on Wednesday night about his own foreign policy track record in Iraq, arguing history proves he "got it wrong." Cheney had co-authored a blistering Wall Street Journal op-ed with his daughter Liz that blasted President Barack Obama for failing to negotiate an agreement to leave a residual force behind in Iraq and accused him of willfully undermining American leadership abroad. "Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many," they wrote. "But time and time again, history has proven that you got it wrong as well in Iraq, sir," Kelly said. "You said there was no doubt Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. You said the Iraq insurgency was in the last throes, back in 2005. And you said that after our intervention extremists would have to 'rethink their strategy of jihad.'" "Now with almost a trillion dollars spent there, with 4,500 American lives lost there, what do you say to those who say you were so wrong about so much at the expense of so many?" she asked.

I fully realize republicans don't believe in facts, history or science but. . . The decision to leave Iraq by a certain date was not actually taken by President Obama — it was taken by President George W. Bush, and by the Iraqi government. In one of his final acts in office, President Bush in December of 2008 had signed a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) with the Iraqi government that set the clock ticking on ending the war he’d launched in March of 2003. The SOFA provided a legal basis for the presence of U.S. forces in Iraq after the United Nations Security Council mandate for the occupation mission expired at the end of 2008. But it required **that all U.S. forces be gone from Iraq by January 1, 2012, unless the Iraqi government was willing to negotiate a new agreement that would extend their mandate. Well, they didn't, so as they say "the rest is history" whether you 'believe' it or not.

Sorry, easy, pointing out that article, doesn't change anything. In the year 2014 Islam stands alone in its level of violence against non-believers, and against it's own people, particularly women. Nobody condones what you pointed out, but I'm correct. Extremist Muslims have killed millions and millions non believers, and are all over Africa doing it all the time.

There is no comparison.

Did I Say all Muslims kill and terrorize?

Kuwait is actually Iraq the British went in and carved out a decade or so prior in preparation for what's taking place now.

June 20, 2014 at 8:50 a.m.

Yeah, Ki,religion is abused by extremists to commit acts of violence. Right now, in the year 2014, no one can touch Islam on that.

As a Christian I'm very happy that there's a separation of church and state. I don't trust Christians who get into positions of power, and seek control of things. They're just as corrupt as anyone else.

I'm not denying that the Bible hasn't been used to justify killing, I'm saying the world's problem right now is extremist Islam.

It doesn't matter that those carrying out lynchings considered themselves to be good Christians. They weren't. That's just an excuse. That's like saying the Democrat Party is responsible for the KKK because it was founded by a few members of the Democrat Party.

Christians fought to free slaves, and they were behind the underground railroad. They started the abolitionist movement.

Denominations can be led by wackos who distort Christianity as well.

June 20, 2014 at 11:55 a.m.

So, it's your duty to inform others on here of what you accuse him of?

June 20, 2014 at 12:05 p.m.

As far as I'm concerned, easy, you're guilty of libel.

As far as your comments about Jack, that sex offender thing is not something I would throw around. You have no right to do it and it just makes you look bad. Jack has a right to be on this site without that kind of BS.

June 20, 2014 at 3:19 p.m.

exactly, timbo. that's not just something you toss around.

Looks like the situation on the border is getting worse. There's practically just coming in at will.

What a #$@%#* up government we have. Boehner is calling for the national guard. Texas looks like it's going to do what it needs to do to defend it's border.

Perry should send whatever he has to the border, so should New Mexico, and Arizona. This absolute neglect of duty on the part of BO and his AG. They make me want to hurl.

There is absolutely no end to your ignorance, is there?

Libel only exists in the absence of proof to a written declaration.

In this case, there is ABSOLUTE proof to the statement that Jack Dana Dennis is a three time convicted sex offender, who enticed children sexually.

http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2014/may/18/ostrich/#c270592

It is further a fact that the Jack Dennis who posts in this forum, and whom you have now decided to defend, refuses to type the words, "I am not Jack Dana Dennis."

It's up to you, but you have lost a great deal of respect from myself, given that you claim to be a Christian and are now defending a man who has admitted to being Jack Dana Dennis.

http://www.homefacts.com/offender-detail/TN00513388/Jack-Dana-Dennis.html

You got upset last month when I associated you with the same behavior as that man, and I am convinced more than ever that I was right.

Could you too be attracted to underage children?

Z-man wrote: "I'm fed up with her and Alprova continually bring up that accusation. Everyone is sick of hearing it."

It is not a mere accusation. The man CONFESSED to being the man in question and if YOU ask him to deny that he is Jack Dana Dennis, you will not see him type the words, "I am not Jack Dana Dennis."

Now what does that tell you? It tells me that he is indeed Jack Dana Dennis, three time convicted child enticer in Knox County, Tennessee.

Don't believe me. Ask the man himself to type those words.

He will not do it.

Explain that to everyone.

Why?

You're the only person who can prove whom you are, and you refuse to do it.

Why?

June 20, 2014 at 7:01 p.m.

Guass, why would I believe that all Republicans are Christians? I don't even consider myself to be a Republican. I consider myself to be a conservative. When did I say that all libs are atheists?

As long as you libs try and equate some Bible thumping Christian on a street corner somewhere, or in some church, spouting off how if you don't repent you'll go to hell, with Islamofacist terrorists, then I'll comment.

I guess I have to end every statement by saying that all Muslims are not terrorists and killers. Will that please you libs?

TheJackDennis said... I've told you before that I am not he. Give it a rest.

You had the opportunity long ago to put this to rest but you thought you were being "smart and funny" when you admitted the accusation against you was true. NO ONE should ever admit to so heinous a crime even in jest. You brought this on yourself, now you want to play the role of martyr. There is nothing "smart or funny" about admitting to child molestation. This one is on you and as they say once it's out there in cyberspace there is no way for you to take it back. LIVE WITH YOUR OWN MISTAKE.

As for the rest of the RWNJ's on this site, I've sat back and read just about every comment you've made for the last two months. I refused to give any credence at all to the ignorant, dumbass comments from the RWNJ's because to do so would take up too much of my time and in the end wouldn't change anything about them or the ignorance they wallow in EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THEIR MISERABLE LIVES.

I always knew it would just be a matter of time before the dumbasses would write that Barack Obama was responsible for the clusterfck in Iraq and I wasn't wrong. Day after Day some dumbass would do just that, Blame President Obama. Well, I agree President Obama has some blame to bear in this fiasco and here it is: When he was elected and entered the White House, the first thing he should have done was to have all those Neo-con War Criminals rounded up and put in fcking jail for sending over 4000 young men and women to their deaths in a War that should never have happened. Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Brenner, Wolfwowitz, Rove and yes even Powell are to blame for the debacle in Iraq. Yet they all walked away and not a single one of them was ever brought to trial for the lies they told to Congress and the American People to start the war in Iraq. Instead they slithered out of site and that gutless, chickenhawk, scumbag Cheney started right away to running his lying mouth about the "failure of Obama's foreign policy."

Why anyone with even a minimal recollection of the lies they told the American People would have even the slightest interest in anything these scumbags have to say now about the situation in Iraq is beyond belief. I will give Bush credit for keeping his mouth shut, it's just too bad scumbag Cheney and his dumbass daughter, Liz didn't do the same.

Now everyone says don't keep pointing fingers about how we got here just figure out a way to get out of a no-win situation. President Obama talks of re-involvement in Iraq as a way to vindicate the deaths of those U.S. Soldiers killed in that god-forsaken place. Well, the one vindication that should have been made should have happened way back in Jan. 2009 if he had rounded up those WAR CRIMINALS(Bush, Cheney and all the rest who lied) AND PUT THEM ON TRIAL RIGHT ALONGSIDE THE TERRORISTS THAT MASTERMINDED 911.

It doesn't matter what I type. You confessed to being the man and have to this very date REFUSED to recant that confession.

Why, I have no idea. You are a liar one way or the other. Attempting to avoid admitting you lied will never work. You either lied when you claimed to be the man, or when you have tried to distance yourself from your confession.

You lied one way or the other.

Which one was your intentional lie?

ZABLEE...your 0832 post is in my opinion right on target. I would pull everyone out of Iraq and Afghanistan and let them do to each other as they have been doing for thousands of years. The U.S. is not credible enough to announce and establish the understanding throughout the region that if we are attacked we will destroy the country from which those involved in the attack come with no exceptions. We have no friends or enemies in the middle east or north Africa. Therefore, if you know of plans to attack the U.S. it would be wise to inform us as soon as possible.

The next thing would be to stop buying any oil or other products from that region even if our spoiled butts have to do without something. Encourage others buying their oil to avoid doing so as well. Drill, drill or do whatever it takes for the U.S. and Canada to be the preferred source for oil and gas. Big oil may not like that since they are so involved and invested in that region but screw them.

Those Muslims in the U.S. should understand that the applicable law in this country is U.S. law and Sharia law will not be the law for any people in the U.S.

June 20, 2014 at 9:38 p.m.

fairmon, I agree with you. All good points. I doubt they'll choose that route, though. It makes too much sense.

June 20, 2014 at 9:53 p.m.

I'm not an isolationist, but it's a waste of time and American lives to even try and help the people over there set up a Constitutional Republic like ours because extremist Islam won't allow it. What are we supposed to do babysit countries until Islamic extremism fades away? It'll never happen.
