Crossville woman charged with killing ex-boyfriend

A Crossville, Tenn., woman suspected of shooting her ex-boyfriend to death has been charged with murder, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

A neighbor called 911 about 4:45 a.m. Friday to report gunshots at the home of 36-year-old Stephanie Cole. Cumberland County deputy sheriffs arrived to find Louis Michael Tammaro, 31, dead. They detained Cole and 13th Judicial District Attorney General Randy York asked the TBI to investigate, according to a news release.

TBI investigators discovered that Tammaro had recently moved out of the Ackia Drive home where he had lived at with Cole for several years, but the couple was reportedly trying to reconcile.

Agents charged Cole with one count of first-degree murder and she is being held without bond at the Cumberland County Jail pending a court appearance.
