Former Alabama tailback Alvin Kamara announced over the weekend that he will be continuing his career at Tennessee.

Kamara redshirted last season for the Crimson Tide and was granted a release from his scholarship in January. He is scheduled to play this season at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas before arriving in Knoxville in 2015.

"I am committed to THE University of Tennessee," Kamara posted on Twitter.

The 5-foot-10, 195-pounder from Norcross, Ga., was rated the No. 32 prospect nationally by ESPN in the 2013 signing class, No. 42 by 247Sports.com, No. 45 by Rivals.com and No. 69 by Scout.com. As a senior at Norcross High, Kamara rushed for 2,264 yards and 26 touchdowns, averaging 7.5 yards a carry.

Kamara was among four tailbacks in Alabama's 2013 class ranked among Rivals.com's top 80 national prospects. He suffered a knee injury before the start of last season and quickly found himself behind classmates Derrick Henry and Altee Tenpenny on the depth chart.

Though he redshirted, Kamara continued to make news by missing practices the week of the LSU game for what coach Nick Saban described as "behavioral issues." Kamara also was suspended for Alabama's Sugar Bowl matchup with Oklahoma.

Tennessee now has 16 commitments for its 2015 signing class, a class that was ranked seventh nationally by Rivals.com and by 247Sports.com as of Sunday afternoon.
