Dalton City Schools Superintendent Jim Hawkins is one of seven Georgia superintendents recognized for excellence on the job.
Hawkins was selected from 181 Peach State superintendents to represent North Georgia as winner of the Georgia School Superintendents Association’s Presidents Award.
“He’s doing an exemplary job,” said Larry Harmon, executive director of the North Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency. ” He really seems to be the right person at the right place at the right time.”
Harmon nominated Hawkins for the job.
“It was an easy choice because of all he’s done for the community and the teachers,” he said. “Dalton Public Schools always has good administrators, and he’s just another example.”
