An alleged rape early Wednesday morning sent a woman to Erlanger Hospital with lacerations and contusions on her face and head.

And the man accused of attacking her is behind bars with a $250,000 bond awaiting a July 1 court date that will be the latest chapter in his long history of local run-ins with the law.

Police arrested Willie James Bradley, 53, at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, nearly 12 hours after the alleged attack occurred inside a vacant house at 2012 Milne Street.

The woman who said Bradley attacked her told police the incident occurred after she had been riding with another friend and Bradley. She only knew Bradley as "Doc" and said her friend picked him up at the Kanku's at 3440 Wilcox Blvd.

According to an arrest affidavit, the woman stated she needed to use the restroom and Bradley said he knew of a place where they could stop.

They pulled over at the house on Milne Street and entered, at which time Bradley began the rape, the woman told police.

During a struggle, the woman said Bradley continued to punch her before fleeing the area.

Investigators found blood on the floor and walls.

Bradley was charged with rape in 1998 and 2008 and has also been charged with carjacking, theft, assault, robbery and kidnapping since 1998.
