3D expert highlights GigTank 2014

Terry Wohlers, one of the world's leading experts on the 3D printing and additive manufacturing industry, will be the keynote speaker at The Company Lab's annual GigTank Demo Day on July 29 when businesses pitch their proposals to investors.

Wohlers' appearance will be the second installment of the Chattanooga Spirit Series, a new string of speaking engagements that feature national voices on topics that highlight emerging innovation opportunities in the Chattanooga area.

Mortgage rates decline again

Average U.S. rates on fixed mortgages declined again this week, hovering near historically low levels.

Mortgage buyer Freddie Mac said Thursday that the average rate for a 30-year loan eased to 4.14 percent from 4.17 percent last week. The average for the 15-year mortgage fell to 3.22 percent from 3.30 percent.
