Catoosa County teen hit by train dies

A 17-year-old boy from Catoosa County, Ga., is dead after being struck by a train while walking on a trestle south of Ringgold on Wednesday night.

Investigators with the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office and the Ringgold Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train at 10:13 Wednesday night and found Christian Hall, of Ringgold, dead at the scene.

Hall's body was discovered on the east side of the tracks, south of the first train trestle from the U.S. Highway 41 and Depot Street intersection, and north of the trestle from Catoosa Station Road.

According to the CSX train engineer, Hall was on the east side of the rail line, north of the engineer's location.

The investigation is ongoing, but foul play is not suspected.
