The Meigs County girls pulled out a 68-66 overtime win at Cloudland in one of three TSSAA Class A basketball sectionals involving southeastern Tennessee schools Saturday night, but Van Buren County lost 61-46 to Jackson County and Arts & Sciences fell 70-37 at Clarkrange.

Emileigh Swafford scored 26 points and Taylor Boggess had 13 for Meigs, which moves on to the state tournament in Murfreesboro this week. Madison Hampton scored nine points and Brandi Kilpatrick and Megan Lewis added seven and six. Courtney Clark and Courtney Wilson scored 27 and 26 for Cloudland.

Clark went the length of the court for a layup that sent the game to overtime. Late in the extra period a Cloudland girl got hurt, causing a delay of about 10 minutes. When play resumed, Meigs' Angel Davis hit the first of two free throws to give her team a two-point lead, and Cloudland was unable to hit the tying basket.

Lakelyn Bouldin scored 22 points in the loss for Van Buren, which trailed by only two points with three minutes left. Jaycee Coe and Kassidy Allen had 20 and 19 points for Jackson County, which shot free throws well in swelling its margin down the stretch. Cameron Sherrill added 10 points for the visitors.

Van Buren's Eaglettes wound up 23-9 for the season.

Keturah Billen with 14 points was the only double-figure scorer for Arts & Sciences, which trailed 22-13 after one quarter and 37-20 at halftime. Brittany Cooper led Clarkrange with 20 points, while Cheyenne Shaver and Kara Meadows scored 18 and 16.
