Chattanooga Christian School made a smooth transition in its boys' basketball program by naming former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga assistant David Conrady as its new head coach. That move came on the same day that Jim Arnold announced he was resigning as basketball coach to focus attention on his role as the middle school principal.

Coach Arnold had led the Chargers' program for seven year, taking them to the region five times and twice being named District 7-AA Coach of the Year. He had worked as the junior varsity coach two years before taking over the varsity program.

Conrady had most recently worked as the National Basketball Director for SCORE International, a sports-based Christian missionary. Before that, Conrady spent 23 years coaching at the collegiate level, including six seasons with UTC, where he was the associate head coach. While he was with the Mocs, they won three Southern Conference North Division championships and made two NCAA tournament appearances.

He also has been a head coach at North Greenville University and Newberry College.

"I could not be more excited to be able to lead the CCS boys' basketball team," Conrady said. "This is a perfect fit for my ministry."
