Chris ClemFormer Hamilton County Election Commission attorney Chris Clem was appointed to serve on the panel today by State Election Commissioner Judy Blackburn of Morristown to fill the seat being vacated by Tommy Crangle.
Crangle is seeking the Tennessee House District 27 post. State Rep. Richard Floyd, R-Chattanooga, is not seeking re-election.
In December, Clem left the Hamilton County Election Commission after a disagreement with Chairman Mike Walden. Clem has said the argument had no bearing on his decision to leave last year.
Hamilton County's legislative delegation recommended Clem for the post last week after having a private vote over email. Delegation Chairman Vince Dean, R-East Ridge, declined to reveal how delegation members voted.
