Pink! in January nets $250,000

Pink!, a gala event held in January at the Chattanooga Convention Center, drew a crowd of more than 1,000 and led to net proceeds of over $250,000 that will benefit the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center at Memorial.

Memorial Health Care System Foundation and Hamico Foundation presented Pink!

Addressing the crowd at Pink!, Scott and Donna Mattice, who chaired it, said, "Chattanooga is blessed to have this amazing facility right here in our hometown, dedicated to not just fighting and preventing this dreaded disease but also to the care and well-being of its patients."

They continued, "Breast cancer has impacted each of us in some personal way - a mom, sister, wife, family member or friend. Please know your presence here tonight will provide care and comfort to patients and families in need."

Jennifer Nicely, Memorial Foundation president and chief development officer, said, "Pink! is a celebration of life for breast cancer patients and survivors raising more than $2 million since 2006 to ensure our community has access to the most advanced breast cancer treatments available."

The date for the next Pink! is Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015.
