Auditions scheduled for Chattanooga Symphony & Opera and Chattanooga Music Club singers

Two local music organizations have scheduled auditions for vocalists.

The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera is looking for singers interested in solo performances in upcoming concerts. Chattanooga Music Club is looking to reward talented high school students with scholarships.

• CSO auditions: You must register by today for auditions scheduled between 4 and 7 p.m. Monday at First-Centenary United Methodist Church, 419 McCallie Ave. Auditioners should prepare two or three arias or art songs. An accompanist will be provided, or singers may bring their own.

• Scholarship auditions: Chattanooga Music Club will accept applications through Sunday for auditions that will award $12,000 in scholarships to college-bound music majors who attend high school within 30 miles of Chattanooga.

Winners are required to perform at a scholarship tea at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27.
