NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Plastics recycler Allied Reprocessing says it is expanding its operations in Ripley, creating 31 new jobs and investing $1.1 million in Lauderdale County in the process.
Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty says the business will continue growing in the 100,000-square-foot building it moved into in 2012 in Ripley.
Allied Reprocessing specializes in separating chrome-plated polymer parts and reprocessing them into reusable pellet materials for automotive suppliers. The company also separates and re-pelletizes industrial plastics.
The expansion allows Allied to add new lines to process agricultural plastic waste, such as cotton bale wrap, and separate mixed plastics.
Allied plans to begin hiring the next round of employees in about 90 days. Interested applicants can visit the company or apply through the Northwest Tennessee Workforce Board.
