Police ID body found in Weiss Lake as missing man

CEDAR BLUFF, Ala. - Authorities in Cherokee County say a body found in Weiss Lake has been identified as that of a man who's been missing since February.

Cedar Bluff police says forensics officials have identified the dead man as 31-year-old Michael Adam Maddox.

Maddox was last seen on Feb. 16 in a campground in Cedar Bluff. The body was found Sunday afternoon in the water near the campground.

Police say they haven't determined the cause of death.
