Southbound part of Market Street to see detour this week

The Chattanooga Transportation Department has announced that southbound Market Street at Ken Street will be detoured this week.

Because of a water line installation project, the detour will be in place from 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday until 5 p.m. Friday.

Southbound Market Street will be detoured right (west) onto Kent Street, then left (south) onto Velma Street, then left (east) onto Cherokee Boulevard, back to Market Street.

Paving will be done at a later date, yet to be determined.

Northbound Market Street will remain open. Detour signs will be posted.
