Poet Anya Silver at Lee - March 24

The Lee University Writers Festival will conclude with a presentation by poet Anya Silver at 7 p.m. Monday, March 24, in Rose Lecture Hall in the Helen Devos College of Education on the Cleveland, Tenn., campus. Silver, a professor of English at Mercer University, will be reading poems from her collections, "The Ninety-Third Name of God" and "I Watched You Disappear." She has been published in numerous literary magazines and been featured on Garrison Keillor's "The Writer's Almanac," Ted Kooser's "American Life in Poetry" column and Poetry Daily. Dr. William Woolfitt, assistant professor of English at Lee, says Silver writes "beautiful, heartbreaking poems that find in the messiness and complexity of our world reasons for hope and awe."
