Soddy-Daisy traffic accident leaves one dead

One person died from injuries sustained in a car wreck in Soddy-Daisy on Wednesday morning, according to a news release from the Soddy-Daisy Police Department.

Police officers responded to the 7000 block of Dayton Pike at 10:20 a.m. where a car traveling north crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a truck headed south. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the truck was transported to the hospital.

The crash remained under investigation late Wednesday evening.
