Suspects arrested in Dalton nightclub slaying case

Police have arrested two people in connection to a double shooting that happened at a bar in Dalton, Ga., but the suspect is still at large.

In a news release, Dalton police said Juvencio Vega Garcia , 20, and Fernando Resendiz, 21, each is charged with one count of homicide. Police spokesman Bruce Frazier said they are charged as accessories to the shooting that happened early Sunday morning outside the Las Delicias bar at 511 E. Morris St.

Police are still looking for the man believed to have pulled the trigger, 20-year-old Orlando Ramirez.

Frazier said detectives determined that Garcia, of 903 North Hamilton St., and Resendiz, of 1601 Beverly Drive, were with Orlando Ramirez before, during, and after the shooting.

One man died and another, 37-year-old Daniel Maldonado-Flores, sustained gunshot wounds not thought to be life-threatening, Frazier said.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Orlando Ramirez is asked to contact Detective Chris Tucker at 706-278-9085, extension 165, or dial 911. He is wanted on arrest warrants for one count of homicide and two counts of aggravated assault.
