Police say a teenager was stabbed by his uncle in East Ridge this afternoon.

Police received a report of a stabbing at 100 Fawn Drive around 12:30 p.m.

The victim fled the scene and called police from a friend's house down the street, saying the attack was unprovoked.

The 25-year-old suspect, Garris Wooten, was taken into custody and charged with attempted criminal homicide. He is scheduled to appear in East Ridge Court on April 1.
