CARROLLTON, Ga. - Authorities say firefighters were able to stop a pre-dawn fire at a restaurant in downtown Carrollton from spreading to nearby businesses on Carrollton's historic town square.

Carrollton Fire Chief Jimmy Bearden tells WSB-TV that said the blaze was reported around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters quickly opened up the roof and contained the attic fire.

The Atlanta station reports that the building is home to La Trattoria, an Italian restaurant at Adamson Square.

Bearden said firefighters were continuing to search for hot spots early this morning.

No injuries were reported.
