The SWAT team responded to a call from East Lake Court Apartments at 4:16 p.m. Friday.

A caller told police he was concerned that a 43-year-old white male family member was considering suicide, according to Wayne Jefferson, spokesman for the Chattanooga Police Department.

The Chattanooga Housing Authority also spotted the person and noticed he was holding a gun. The man was taken into custody without incident by the SWAT team.

Jefferson said the man will likely undergo an evaluation.
