3 shot; Chattanooga police say no connection

Chattanooga Police are investigating three separate shootings that occurred from Saturday evening through early Sunday morning.

The first shooting occurred at 1909 Foust St. Police arrived a local hospital shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday in response to a report of a person shot. On arrival, officers made contact with the victim, Tony Jackson.

Witnesses told police that Jackson, 23, had been shot at by people in a dark-colored vehicle that drove by. Jackson was hit in the left arm and torso. His wounds were not life-threatening.

The second shooting occurred at 37 Scruggs St. Police were called to the hospital around 11 p.m. on a report of a person shot. Officers spoke with the victim, Devin Caldwell, 22, who said he had been sitting in a vehicle in front of the address when three people wearing dark clothing shot at the vehicle.

Caldwell was shot in the head and was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle. He is currently in stable condition.

The third shooting was at 2510 E. Main St. Police went to the hospital around 1 a.m. Sunday, and spoke with Juan Boyd, the victim. Boyd, 18, told officers that he was at an after-hours club when a fight broke out. Boyd said he got into a vehicle when he heard gunshots, and then realized he had been shot.

Boyd was hit in the face and was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle. Boyd said he did not know who did the shooting.

Police said there was no information on suspects in any of the shootings but that available evidence does not suggest they are related.
