Britain's Prince William and Prince Harry are in Tennessee to attend a friend's wedding in Memphis.

On Thursday night, the princes caused a stir when they dined at the famous Rendezvous barbecue restaurant in Downtown Memphis. A crowd gathered outside the restaurant squealed when the royals walked by and took cell phone photos and videos. Law enforcement officers kept onlookers back, and Secret Service agents were seen in place near the entrance.

London nightclub owner, Guy Pelly, a longtime friend of the princes, will marry Memphis native Lizzy Wilson this weekend.

Wilson is the granddaughter of Holiday Inns founder Kemmons Wilson and part of a family that is well known in Memphis.

A C Wharton Jr., mayor of the Tennessee city famous for Blues music, says Memphis was ready to host the British royals should they attend what he describes as a strictly private affair, the Associated Press reported.

This weekend will be busy in Memphis with the start of the annual Memphis in May event and The Beale Street Music Festival starting.

Pelly, 32, is regularly described as a "London aristocrat" whose mother Lady Carolyn Herbert was close friends with the late Princess Diana, according to the UK's Mirror.

At 25, he became a partner in London's Mahiki club where the princes often go. Pelly has since gone on to own and manage other nightclubs.

Pelly has known the princes for years He organized William's stag party before he married Kate Middleton, the Mirror reported. He also attended the wedding.

The three-day celebration of Pelly and Wilson's wedding will begin today with drinks at the Memphis Hunt and Polo club. Guests may visit Elvis Presley's Graceland mansion. The wedding will take place on Saturday and a lavish brunch planned for the polo club on Sunday, according to the Mirror.

According to localmemphs.com, Wilson went to the University of Virginia and Georgetown University and now lives in London.
