Blue Wahoos edge Chattanooga Lookouts despite O'Koyea Dickson heroics

PENSACOLA, Fla. — O'Koyea Dickson homered twice and drove in six runs Monday night for the Chattanooga Lookouts, but they lost 9-8 in the opener of their Southern League baseball series.

Juan Silverio's two-run home run to center field highlighted a five-run fourth inning that put the Blue Wahoos ahead to stay.

Chattanooga (12-18) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Dickson's two-run home run to left, and the Lookouts went up 3-1 in the third on Jeremy Hazelbaker's RBI double. The Lookouts trailed 9-3 but pulled within 9-8 on Dickson's grand slam in the seventh.

Game two of the five-game series starts tonight at 7:30 EDT. Tyson Brummett (2-2, 0.61 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Robert Stephenson (2-2, 5.20) listed for the Blue Wahoos.

Pedro Baez, who has been the Lookouts closer, was called up to the Dodgers.
