Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond has wide lead in GOP primary

With 33 of 130 precincts reporting, Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond continues with a wide lead over challenger Chris Harvey in the Hamilton County Sheriff's race.

Hammond has gotten 5,454 votes from the reporting precincts while Harvey, a patrol sergeant in the sheriff's office, has received 2,471 votes. The winner of today's primary will run unopposed in August's general election.
